Cigarettes

It's the little things that people notice most, and one of the more common questions asked is "Did they have Embassy Number Six back then?"

Nothing irritates me more (as a non-smoker) than finding our nice street littered with modern fag-ends. Not only does it produce a fire hazard, it also kills the feeling of being in the mid 1860's.

However, the question remains - did they smoke cigarettes or not?

Here are two different views on this, make your own mind up.
